Hermantown boys hockey falls to Moorhead in battle of top Class A and AA teams

Hermantown boys hockey falls to Moorhead in battle of top Class A and AA teams

It’s been an uncharacteristic week for Hermantown boys hockey. After falling 3-1 to Cloquet/Esko/Carlton on Thursday, the Hawks fell to the top team in Class AA on Friday, Moorhead, 2-1.

The Hawks fell behind the Spuds early on, and couldn’t get any offensive momentum until the second period, when Henry Peterson fired on net and Charlie Marchand tipped it with his stick to find the back of the net.

However, in the third period, the Spuds found the back of the net and the Hawks couldn’t respond.

Hermantown will try to bounce back against Benilde-St. Margaret’s next Friday at 7 p.m.
