13 former Bulldogs make final PWHL rosters
The inaugural Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) team rosters were finalized this week and the Bulldogs are represented well with 13 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) alumni making the cut.
All six teams have a former Bulldog. Minnesota has the most with four, Boston and Ottawa each have three, and New York, Toronto and Montreal each have one.
Despite being drafted by Minnesota, former Whitecap Sidney Morin would officially sign with Boston before the roster deadline. She joins fellow former Bulldogs Jessica Healey and Emma Soderberg in Boston.
Minnesota welcomes Sydney Brodt, Michela Cava, Maggie Flaherty and Maddie Rooney. Ottawa signed Ashton Bell, Gabbie Hughes, and Katerina Mrazova. Montreal signed Catherine Daoust.
Jocelyne Larocque’s Toronto and Elizabeth Giguere’s New York squads will square off in the first-ever PWHL game on New Year’s Day in Toronto.
