2024 PWHL Draft to be held in Minnesota
They made the first-ever draft selection in Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) history, and now the State of Hockey has been tabbed to host the second PWHL Draft.
On Saturday the PWHL announced that Minnesota will be the site of the 2024 PWHL Draft set to take place in June. A specific date and venue are still to be announced.
The league’s six teams will make a total of 42 selections over seven rounds.
The first pick will be awarded to the team that is eliminated from the playoffs, and earns the most Draft Order Points. Picks three through six will be for the four playoff bound teams, and will be based off the inverse order of their regular season standings.
Minnesota currently sits in third place.
Minnesota made history at the inaugural PWHL Draft on Sept. 18, 2023, in Toronto by selecting forward Taylor Heise with the first overall pick.
