#4 UMD women's hockey blanks Bemidji State for series sweep
The fourth ranked UMD women’s hockey team scored eight goals in Friday night’s win against the Bemidji State Beavers, but only needed two on Saturday to get the job done, winning 2-0 to sweep the series.
The Bulldogs peppered shots on net the entire first period, and it finally paid off when Tova Henderson scored on a powerplay to give UMD the 1-0 lead.
Neither team could find the back of the net the rest of the first period and well into the second, until Oliva Mobley scored a top-shelf goal on a breakaway to extend the lead to 2-0.
UMD will look to make their winning streak three games long when they host the University of Vermont on Friday, with puck drop at 6:01 p.m.
