#4 UMD women’s hockey complete comeback to take down #8 St. Cloud State
After a tie on Friday night, the #4 UMD women’s hockey team took down #8 St. Cloud State in a thrilling 3-1 comeback which included three third period goals.
After a Huskies goal in the first period, the St. Cloud State couldn’t add on, but UMD couldn’t score the equalizer.
That is until Olivia Mobley scored her fifth goal in the last six games to tie the game at 1-1, and Clara Van Wieren sent a missile on net with under five minutes in the game to give the Bulldogs the lead. From there, Mary Kate O’Brien scored an empty-net goal to put the game away.
UMD is next on the ice in the new year, when they take on Syracuse on January 2nd at 2 p.m.
