#6 UMD’s Henderson nets game winning goal in overtime against #8 St. Cloud State
#6 UMD women's hockey beat St. Cloud State in an instant classic on Friday night, as Tova Henderson net an overtime game winner.
The #6 UMD women’s hockey team continued their impressive play on Friday, as Tova Henderson’s overtime goal propelled the Bulldogs over #8 St. Cloud State, 2-1.
The first period ended in a scoreless tie, as the Bulldogs defense, specifically from goalie Ève Gascon, was stellar.
In the second period, the Bulldogs broke through, as Nina Jobst-Smith’s shot from the blue line found the back of the net.
St. Cloud State tied the game late into the third period, sending the game into overtime.
Tova Henderson would net the game winner 2:53 into overtime, extending the Bulldogs win streak to 19 games over the Huskies.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday against the Huskies at 3 p.m.
