#7 UMD women’s hockey topples #1 Ohio State with stunning last minute goal
The seventh ranked UMD women’s hockey team promised to forget last seasons loss to Ohio State in the NCAA tournament and start the 2024-25 campaign off with a clean slate.
On Saturday, they did just that, as Ida Karlsson scored the game winning goal with 24 seconds left to beat the Buckeyes 2-1.
The Bulldogs had their backs against the wall early, as the Buckeyes scored in the first period.
However, with just under two minutes left in the second, Oliva Wallin found the back of the net for not only the equalizer, but the first Bulldog goal of the year.
The biggest moment came with just 24 seconds left, as Ida Karlsson net the game winner, giving the Buckeyes barely any time to respond.
The Bulldogs next take on the Buckeyes on Sunday at noon.
