#8 UMD women’s hockey and #10 St. Cloud State skate to tie, Gascon and McMahon break records
Just a day after #8 UMD and #10 St. Cloud State played in a thrilling 1-0 game resulting in a UMD win, the two teams put another defensive clinic on on Saturday, skating to a 0-0 tie.
When UMD’s captain Mannon McMahon stepped on the ice, she became the Bulldog program consecutive games played leader after skating in her 166th-straight game at UMD.
In the game, neither team could pull ahead despite tallying 69 total shots between teams.
With the shutout, Bulldogs goalie Ève Gascon earned her fifth shutout of the season, tying her with Jennifer Harss for the most shutouts in a rookie season.
UMD will see the Huskies again in just a few weeks, as they’ll host them in a three game series at AMSOIL Arena to open up the WCHA playoff, however, they’ll meet up with #5 Minnesota next weekend in the regular season finale.
