Despite the #8 UMD women’s hockey team outshooting the #4 Minnesota Golden Gophers 33-22 on Friday night, the Bulldogs fell 3-1 at home.

The Bulldogs came out of the gate with their sticks on fire, peppering the net with 14 goals, however the first period would end in a scoreless tie.

The Bulldogs wouldn’t score until halfway through the third period, when Hanna Baskin found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.

The Gophers would strike back just 1:45 later, and would add an empty net goal with just 15 seconds left.

The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday against the Gophers at 3:01 p.m. from AMSOIL Arena.
