On Thursday, the Barnum baseball team scored 14 runs to defeat McGregor 14-4 at Wade Stadium. The game marked both the Bombers’ and Mercs’ season openers.

In the third inning Barnum’s Brayden Carlson brought in two runners to lead 9-0. Then in the Mercs’ ensuing at bat Carlson, serving as the Bombers’ pitcher, would throw three straight strikeouts to end the frame scoreless.

Barnum (1-0) is next scheduled to visit Braham Friday at 4:30 p.m. McGregor (0-1) is next set to host East Central Monday at 4:30 p.m.
