Big bats earn UWS softball three straight wins over Martin Luther
On Wednesday, the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) softball team put up a total of 24 runs over Martin Luther College defeating them 12-0 in five innings game one, then 12-1 in five innings in game two of their doubleheader at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex. Those wins earned UWS the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) sweep over the Knights, after they beat Martin Luther 11-1 on Tuesday.
In game one, UWS was led by Samantha Swartz tallying two runs, two hits and three RBI, and Carly Stuckmayer with one run, three hits and three RBI.
In game two, UWS was led by Stuckmayer with two runs, three hits and two RBI, Indigo Fish with one run, three hits and two RBI, and Baylee O’Donnell with two runs, two hits and two RBI.
The Yellowjackets improve to 20-10 overall and 9-3 in the UMAC. They next host the University of Northwestern (St. Paul) Friday at 3 p.m. in Superior.
