The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team returns home to AMSOIL Arena for a conference rematch this weekend.
However Head Coach Scott Sandelin said their lines may look different due to injuries and illnesses.
The Bulldogs (7-7), coming off a Thanksgiving weekend break, will host Colorado College who they split with on the road four weeks ago. While UMD won the Saturday match 3-1 to split the series, it’s their 5-0 Friday night loss that they remember.
“We got what we deserved on Friday because we weren’t ready to play, and believe me I’ve reminded our guys of that. This is an opportunity to take advantage of the next two weekends at home and win some games,” Sandelin said.
“More so coach has been preaching the traits from the Friday game that we should not be doing again. Saturday game we played a lot better. This is a team we should beat, we have to beat at this point in the season, and I think everyone knows that,” sophomore defenseman Owen Gallatin said.
Puck drop against the Tigers is set for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Duluth.
