Bulldog women's basketball drops NSIC opener to MSU-Mankato
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s basketball team fell 82-64 to No. 9 Minnesota State University-Mankato Tuesday at Romano Gym. The matchup marked UMD’s Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opener for the 2024-25 season.
The Mavericks led UMD 47-34 at halftime, but outscored the Bulldogs just 35-30 in the second half. UMD even boasted the game leader, as Lexi Karlen posted 19 points and 10 rebounds. Destinee Bursch led MSU with 17 points and seven rebounds.
UMD (2-4) returns to action December 6 visiting Southwest Minnesota State University at 5:30 p.m.
