This week two former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey standouts signed professional deals.
A captain for UMD this past season Tanner Laderoute re-signed with the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers, while his former teammate, defenseman, Derek Daschke inked an AHL deal with the Abbotsford Canucks.
Laderoute initially joined the Nailers in March 2023 following the conclusion of the Bulldogs’ 2022-2023 season. During that time he posted seven points in 37 collegiate games. In 11 pro games he registered one goal and six assists.
Daschke enters the AHL following a short stint with the ECHL’s Tolledo Talleye where he tallied seven points in 10 games. Last season with UMD he recorded 16 points in 37 games.
