Cloquet-Esko-Carlton skates past Duluth Marshall in conference clash
On Thursday the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (CEC) boys hockey team skated past Duluth Marshall 3-1 in a Lake Superior Conference clash at Mars Lakeview Arena in Duluth.
The Lumberjacks scored one goal per period with Niko Gentilini scoring in the first, Bobby Thornton in the final seconds of the second, and Grady Knutson in the third. Owen Marsolek scored the Hilltoppers’ sole goal late in the third.
CEC netminder Jacob Iallonardo made 20 saves, while Marshall’s goalie Landon Wheeler made 26 saves.
CEC improves to 9-6 and next hosts Coon Rapids Saturday at 3 p.m. Duluth Marshall 8-5-1 next hosts Northern Lakes Saturday at 7 p.m.
