Corey Kemp’s jersey was retired Saturday morning, as he became the third College of St. Scholastica baseball player to achieve the honor.
Kemp was named UMAC’s Pitcher of the Year in both 2000 and 2001 and was a three time all UMAC selection. He also was named to the 1999 regional All Tournament Team.
The award which CSS gives to the most outstanding pitcher is named after him, cementing his mark at the school forever.
Kemp still holds the program records for career wins with 29 and career strikeouts with just over 250.
No CSS baseball player will ever wear number 18 again.
