Two new Saints are marching into the College of St. Scholastica’s (CSS) athletic department with new ski team and baseball coaching hires.
Tuesday CSS announced Jason Kask as the new head coach of their men’s and women’s Nordic ski teams.
A 2008 CSS grad, and ski team alum, Kask has owned and run endurance coaching business Superior Performance since 2009. He has also worked for USA Triathlon’s high-performance department and the U.S. Paralympics Nordic Ski Team as a physiologist.
Additionally last week, the Saints announced the hiring of Seth Betts as the Director of Player Development and Assistant Head Coach of the baseball program. He’ll work with programming and training for pitchers and position players.
Prior to CSS, Betts worked as the Director of Baseball and Director of Hitting at Starters Sports Training in Burnsville. Playing baseball for Crown College from 2018-2023 he won Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Year Award in 2021 leading the nation in stolen bases with 42. Holding more than 20 school records his No. 2 jersey was retired at Crown.
