The CSS softball team was just a few base runners way from winning game one of a doubleheader against Macalester, as they fell 11-10, and then lost 9-1 in game two.

In game one, the Saints posted a crooked number in three separate innings, including five in the bottom of the second.

The problem was the top of the 5th, where they allowed seven runs. Despite them scoring three in the bottom half of the inning to regain the lead (10-9), Macalester would add two more in the top half of the 6th.

In game two, the Saints couldn’t keep up the hot bats, however, Macalester did, putting up four runs in the top of the second.

The Saints wouldn’t score until the bottom of the sixth, where they mustered up just one run.

The Saints are back in action on Tuesday against Concordia.
