CSS women's narrowly defeated UWS after the Yellowjackets comeback falls short
The Saint Scholastica women’s basketball team defeated the UW-Superior Yellowjackets on Saturday, 77-74 after a thrilling comeback bid by the Yellowjackets fell just short.
After just a one point lead in the first quarter, CSS exploded for a 29 point second quarter, catapulting themselves ahead of the Yellowjackets.
However, the game came down to the last shot, as the CSS defense did all they could to prevent a game tying shot from UWS, in which they succeeded.
The Yellowjackets were lead by Elise Besonen, who played 40 minutes and scored 19 points, adding six assists.
The Saints were lead by Kloey Lind, who poured in 24 points while adding 11 rebounds, a double-double for the freshman.
CSS is back in action on January 3rd, while UWS is back on December 29th.
