On Tuesday, UW-Superior volleyball beat Northland College in straight sets in their UMAC opener, while Saint Scholastica took down Augsburg in a five set brawl, 3-2.

In Superior, the Yellowjackets were efficient on both sides of the net, playing comfortably with a lead while locking the Jills down on defense. The Yellowjackets took the match 25-15, 25-14, and 25-12.

UWS was led by Marena Saeger and Addy Gangl, with 11 kills each.

The Yellowjackets turn to face Crown College on Friday.

At CSS, the Saints came out with a 3-2 win after winning the second, fourth, and fifth set in an intense battle with Augsburg.

The Saints three set wins (25-17, 25-23, 15-10) all came due to their veteran defense, with plenty of experience on display.

The Saints next take on Carleton College on Friday.
