Duluth Denfeld boys basketball outpaced by Totino-Grace in Class AAA quarterfinals
The Duluth Denfeld boys basketball team tipped off in the state tournament for the first time since 2004 on Tuesday, however, were met by a buzzsaw in Totino-Grace, falling 88-72 in the Class AAA quarterfinals.
The three time defending champions seemingly couldn’t miss a shot, pinning the Hunters back for the entirety of the game, as Denfeld struggled to hold an early lead.
Denfeld’s all time leading scorer, Marnaries Ferguson, led the Hunters with a team high 41 points.
Denfeld next will play either Byron or Alexandria in the consolation semifinals on Wednesday at 4 p.m..
