Duluth East boy’s hockey boasts first season win over Brainerd

On Thursday, Duluth East boy’s hockey took on Brainerd, looking for their first win of the season. The Greyhounds would find their way into the winner’s column after an overtime win 2-1 over the Warriors.

Duluth East’s Caden Cole would score for the Greyhounds, assisted by both Kyle Peterson and Marccus Anttila. Brainerd’s Chad King would score for the Warriors with an assist from Drew Haakonson. Cole would score the winning point in overtime for the Greyhounds, assisted by Peterson and Timothy Balthazor.

Duluth East’s goaltender Nolan Nygaard would face 22 shots on goal and make 21 saves. Brainerd’s goaltender Griffin Bartholomaus would face 43 shots on goal and would make 41 saves.
