Duluth East boy’s tennis tops Hibbing in final week of regular season
The Duluth East boy’s tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Hibbing Tuesday at the Longview Tennis Club.
Entering the final week of their regular season this marked just the fifth day the Greyhounds served up at Longview, being forced to play inside or on the road due to inclement spring weather.
The Greyhounds swept singles play, only dropping the number three doubles match. Dane Patten, Thomas Gunderson, and Ewen Moe earned two 6-0 wins, while Ben Heffernan won his match with 6-4 and 6-2 set victories.
Duluth East was led in doubles play by their number one team Karl Kimber and Ryan Delaney earning two 6-0 set wins.
It was a doubleheader evening as Duluth East then hosted Duluth Denfeld. The Greyhounds earned the 7-0 win improving to 14-4 on the season.
