Duluth East hockey legend Chris Locker passes away at 47

Duluth East hockey legend Chris Locker has passed away at age 47.

It was reported by the Duluth News Tribune that Locker passed away on Thursday due to liver failure.

The Minnesota Boys Hockey Hub once ranked Locker as one of the 100 best hockey players in Minnesota high school history, as he and Dave Spehar once teamed up for one of the greatest lines in the states history.

After high school, Locker initially attended the University of Minnesota. Injuries derailed his Division I career and he finished with a season at Wisconsin-River Falls in 1999-2000.

Locker played a major role on the 1995 Duluth East boys hockey team that won the state championship, and is synonymous with Duluth East’s Mike Randolph’s success.
