Duluth East swim team has highest finish ever at state meet

The Duluth East swim team made their mark on the state meet this weekend.

The 200 medley relay team of Landon West, Seiji Sudoh, Pete Saftner and Elliot Yung finished 10th with a new school record time of 1:35.68.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Sudoh, Yung, Lucas Warren and Joey Zelen smashed the old school record with a time of 1:25.69, placing 6th.

In diving, Cale Bortnem finished in 18th, just missing the finals.

Overall, the team placed 5th out of 50 teams competing at the state meet, their highest finish ever.
