Duluth FC breaks through in OT to top TwinStars in NPSL North semifinals
Regulation ended scoreless, however No. 2 Duluth FC would break through in Added Extra Time (AET) scoring two goals to top the No. 3 Minnesota TwinStars 2-0 in their NPSL North Conference semifinal Wednesday at Walt Hunting Stadium in Duluth.
After regulation ended tied 0-0, AET commenced consisting of two 15 minute halves. In the 8th minute Duluth earned a penalty kick and Dylan Sumner converted to finally put numbers on the scoreboard. Felipe Santos scored before the AET halftime to give the BlueGreens some insurance.
Duluth earned the 2-0 win to advance to the conference final. They will visit top-seeded Dakota Fusion FC Saturday, July 13. That winner earns a ticket to the Regional playoffs. For the NPSL tournament hub, click here.
