Duluth FC shares first thoughts on winning NPSL Midwest Region championship
For just the second time in franchise history, Duluth FC is National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Midwest Region champions. They defeated Steel City FC 3-2 Saturday in Pittsburgh to claim their first title since 2018.
The excitement still lingered at practice Tuesday morning, with the BlueGreens back home in Duluth.
“The last couple of minutes I couldn’t really believe that. I think it’s difficult to put into words the scale of how big this achievement is for this group and for the club. It’s absolutely massive,” head coach Sean Morgan said.
Now, it’s on to Nationals.
Duluth FC is seeking their first-ever National Semifinal win. They will face El Farolito Saturday, July 27 in San Francisco. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. Central Time.
That winner advances to the NPSL National Championship August 3. Their opponent would be the winner of FC Motown versus Columbus United FC. For the NPSL playoff hub, Click here.
