Duluth Harbor Monsters announce full roster ahead of inaugural season
The warmer temperatures are coming, which means summer is coming, which means the Duluth Habror Monsters season is right around the corner.
This weekend, we were finally introduced to the full roster and the people behind the operation.
“Tony O’Neil, we knew was gonna be our head coach from the very minute we met him,” explained Steve Walters, the Harbor Monsters general manager. “He’s got a pedigree that is awesome and I can’t imagine this team without him. He’s done an amazing job, not just scouting players, but also all of the coaches, bringing in his amazing coaching staff.”
O’Neil was able to share some of his coaching staff with the crowd as well, including their offensive coordinator, Junior Gregory.
“I couldn’t find another person as far as the IQ, the swagger, the love of the sport, the love of the game., and also a teacher in coachable moments other than Mr. Gregory.”>
The Harbor Monsters also showed off their local talent as well, Derek Daniels Jr. from Duluth East.
“Phenomenal, phenomenal pedigree, high speed, able to move in space,” said O’Neil. “Very shifty, great hands as a receiver. He also has the capability of playing half of that. So it made the absolute most sense to have him come on and showcase his abilities and showcase what he’s been working for this whole time.”
The Harbor Monsters season begins on May 25th against the Dallas Falcons.
