Duluth Huskies bounced from playoffs despite late offensive outburst
The Duluth Huskies had their backs against the wall on Monday night, needing a win to keep their season alive. The La Crosse Loggers had other plans, as they beat the Huskies 8-6, ending Duluth’s season.
The Huskies were in an immediate hole, allowing one run in the top of the first, three runs in the top of the second, and two more in the top of the third, all while scoring just one in that time.
The Huskies offense showed a bit of life in the bottom of the third, scoring two runs, but were blanked the rest of the game.
In the bottom of the ninth though, the Huskies closed the gap, scoring three runs to narrow the deficit to 8-6.
The Huskies left the tying run on base and the winning run at the plate.
The Huskies finish their season with a 38-32 overall record.
