Duluth Huskies can’t keep up with Wausau Woodchucks
The Duluth Huskies fall for a second night in a row to the Wausau Woodchucks on Friday night at Wade Stadium. The Woodchucks emerged victorious in an 8-4 game Thursday night and came back with momentum Friday to do the same, winning 9-2 against the Huskies.
Woodchucks would start scoring strong in the top of the third inning with a blast from Daniel Harden out into center field, Harden would make it to second and both Christian Smith-Johnson and Jake Berkland would make it across home plate.
In the top of the fourth the Huskies would rely on their defense to keep the Woodchucks at bay with a double play. Ethan Cole would field a grounder and send it quickly to Jake Downing at second base, who would quickly turn it to first base to take the second out.
The sixth inning would bring a single run for each team, bringing the score to 4-1 Woodchucks.
Woodchucks would blast off in the top of the ninth inning, bringing in five runs to solidify their lead. Huskies would attempt to comeback but fall short with only one more run to add to their tally. The game would conclude victorious for the Woodchucks 9-2.
