Heading into Wednesday night the Duluth Huskies were just six games away from closing out the first half of their season.
Never since the team’s founding in 2003 have they won their first half sub-division, which secures a playoff spot. However, for now, the 2022 Huskies remain in the running to make history.
"This is my fifth year and we’ve been in the playoffs before but we’ve never had a first half clinch," manager Marcus Pointer shared. "It’s just good for our organization where they can have a month to promote the home playoff game that comes up. It would just be huge for us, this is our 20th year and to be the first team in 20 years to have done it would be awesome."
The Huskies host the Rochester Honkers for a two game homes series Wednesday and Thursday at Wade Stadium, then hit the road for two games in La Crosse and two in Waterloo. The official halfway break is July 5th. For their schedule, click here.
