Duluth Huskies outlast St. Cloud Rox in defensive duel
On Tuesday the crowd at Wade Stadium would have to wait until the bottom of the seventh to see a run score in game two of the Duluth Huskies and St. Cloud Rox series. The Huskies would pull out the 2-0 win in the defensive duel to split the Northwoods League series 1-1.
Reagan Reeder drove in Jake Downing for the Huskies’ first run in the seventh. Then in the eighth Duluth added another run as Jayden Duplantier brought in Joe Vos.
Before the scoring, the Huskies made a stellar defensive play in right field. In the top of the fourth St. Cloud popped a ball right on the right field fence, and Duluth’s Brady Sullivan made the catch before toppling over the gate.
The Duluth Huskies are back in action Wednesday hosting the Bismarck Larks at Wade Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. Their series finale is Thursday at 1:05 p.m. in Duluth.
