Duluth Huskies talk opening day, season expectations
With summer around the corner, many are getting excited for the Duluth Huskies season, including their players.
“It feels great to get the season started,” said Gilbert Saunders, a first baseman for the Huskies. “New opportunity. Obviously coming out here in Duluth, a lot of games to play, a new group of guys that I get to know. So I’m excited to come out here and showcase what I have and play a lot of baseball.”
Local product Ethan Cole also shared his excitement for the upcoming season, saying, “I love the Huskies. I love playing for my hometown team and also Marcus. He’s a great coach, great guy to be under. So just to learn new things, it’s super exciting.”
The Huskies begin play on Monday against the Badlands Big Sticks, and will face the Big Sticks next Sunday in what will be the Huskies home opener.
