On the prep diamond Tuesday the Duluth Marshall baseball team picked up their fifth straight win while Duluth East softball earned a road doubleheader split.
At Wade Stadium Duluth Marshall topped Proctor 6-1 to improve to 8-2 on the season. In their last five games the Hilltoppers have only allowed a total of six runs. They’re back in action Thursday visiting Rock Ridge.
Visiting Bemidji for a doubleheader Duluth East softball earned a victory in game one 2-1 thanks to a top of the seventh game-winning solo home run from Amity Sjerven. However, the Greyhounds then dropped game two 7-1. They’re next scheduled to host Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin Thursday.
