Duluth natives Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin win gold in curling championship
Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, both Duluth natives, made history by winning gold at the 2023 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship per Twin Cities affiliate KSTP.
The pair beat Japan 8-2 in the mixed doubles championship in Korea.
This is the first time a team from the United States earned a world title in the category, according to the Olympics’ official website.
The last podium appearance for a U.S. men’s was in 2016 where Shuster scored bronze and women at the world championship in 2006.
