Early scoring not enough to lift UMD men’s hockey past No. 3 Denver
Two early goals weren’t enough to lift the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team past third ranked Denver University Friday. The Bulldogs would fall 6-2 on the road.
UMD’s Jesse Jacques scored the game’s first goal short handed in the first period. Luke Loheit netted UMD’s second goal early in the second to take a 2-1 win. However the Pioneers then scored five unanswered goals.
The Bulldogs (12-16-1) will seek revenge in the series finale Saturday at 7 p.m.
