Grand Rapids native Easton Fothergill took home the 2024 St Croix Bassmaster Open championship title at Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma. The tournament took place from June 20th to June 22nd.

In 2023, Fothergill won the 2023 Bassmaster College Classic Bracket, earning his way into the 2024 Open.

Fothergill took home the 2024 trophy with a collective fish weight of fifty-two pounds and eight ounces. He amassed a limit of 17 pounds 12 ounces on day 1, 16 pounds 11 ounces on day 2, and 18 pounds 1 ounce on the final day – securing his spot as champion.

“You know, I was running on the lake, and I’d never fished that spot in the tournament. I’d found it in practice, didn’t catch anything on it, but a light bulb just went off like, man, that looked right. And I just pulled in there and first cast, I caught that one,” said Fothergill.

Along with the coveted trophy, Fothergill took home a $44,155 prize along with an invitation to fish in the 2025 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic – which will take place March 21-23, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
