Esko baseball prepares to defend section title in the 2025 season
Despite winter weather postponing the start of their season, Esko boy’s baseball is rearing up to hit the diamond and the dirt once more for the 2025 season.
“We’re looking forward to it. We’re ready to play. We’re ready to get some games in.
We just got to go play a clean ball,” said senior infielder Connor Pearce.
Esko took home the section 7AA championship title in 2024 and 2023 and look to defend that title going into the 2025 season.
I think we’re ready to compete right now, and we just want to play baseball. But it really doesn’t matter who we play. We’re just excited to get back on the field and play, no fear whatsoever,” said senior catcher Samuel Panger.
While confidence levels may be the same as it has been in years past, the roster composition is quite different as Esko has lost many of their key seniors.
“Well, we have a really good culture right now. And so, it’s the next senior class coming in. And we just fully expect them to fill those big shoes. We’re not pretending like we don’t have big shoes to fill. But we’re really just focusing on this group of guys. And our senior class especially has invested a lot of time into baseball. There’s a lot of excitement. So, we’re excited about moving on to the next year and seeing what we got,” said head coach Ben Haugen.
Esko will begin their season battling Fairmont at 5:30PM on Friday, April 11th. Click here to view their full season schedule.
