Esko baseball stays perfect, Cloquet softball holds off Hermantown

On the prep diamond Wednesday Esko baseball protected their perfect record while Cloquet earned a close home win.
At home Esko baseball toppled Two Harbors 18-1 in five innings to stay undefeated and improve to 11-0 on the season.
The Eskomos are next scheduled to visit Roseau Friday at noon, while the Agates will host McGregor Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
At Braun Park Cloquet’s Lilly Witte drove in Morgan Olesiak for the 1-0 lead over Hermantown in the first inning. That would prove to be the sole run of the game with the Lumberjacks earning the 1-0 victory.
Cloquet is back in action Thursday hosting Grand Rapids at 4:30 p.m., while Hermantown will host Duluth Marshall Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
