Esko girls soccer blanks Legacy Christian, to meet Duluth Marshall in Section 7A championship

The top-seeded Esko girls soccer team shut out fifth seeded Legacy Christian Academy 6-0 in the Section 7A semifinals Wednesday at Esko School Fields.

Abigail Naud scored twice, while Sophia Naud, Britta Koski, Whitney Hanson, and Celia Preiner all added a goal apiece. Esko now advances to the Section 7A title game for the third straight season, and will seek their third straight state tournament berth.

They will first need to get past No. 3 Duluth Marshall, who defeated No. 2 Lakes International Language Academy 1-0 in their semifinal Wednesday. Senior Nina Thorson scored the game-winning goal, while freshman Emma Johnson made five saves, propelling the Hilltoppers into the section championship game for the second year in a row.

Esko (11-3-1) will host Duluth Marshall (9-3-4) in the Section 7A championship Tuesday, October 15 at 6 p.m. at Esko School Fields. It will be a rematch of the 2023 title game, where Esko won 4-0 to go to state. For the full Section 7A girls soccer bracket, Click Here.
