The Esko football team is undefeated, and they have won the section 7AAA title twice in the past three years. Friday night at UMD’S Malosky Stadium. Esko earned their 11th straight win to punch back-to-back tickets to the state tournament.
The Eskomos haven’t allowed more than 14 points a game, but Pequot Lakes was able to get 19 points from them but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Esko won 28-19.
Eskomos quarterback Ty Christensen spread the ball around multiple times in the game including to Easton Haker and Javontae Gregory.
“I love these boys! We played our hearts out this is the hardest team we ever played, the hardest team we ever played. I think we’re going to win it all this year,” said Gregory.
Head coach Scott Arntson mentioned that, “right now it actually feels more relief. It was quite a game back and forth it was in doubt until the last second, so I’m very happy for our boys. They worked hard. Pequot’s got a heck of a good football team honestly this is what championship games should be like.”
State kicks off November 10 and Esko will enter with an unblemished record (11-0) for the second straight year.
