Esko celebrated Jacion Owens on Wednesday as he officially signed on to play football for Minnesota State University Moorhead.

In his second year as quarterback last fall he had a stellar season both as Esko’s play-caller and as a safety. In one game against Mora he recorded seven tackles, a 62 yard punt return for a touchdown, and had 12 carries for 111 yards with two touchdowns.

“Can’t thank everyone enough for all the support they give me in all the games. On the court, off the court, in school. I’m just extremely thankful, (for my) family and friends,” Owens said. “I’ve been waiting on this since I was a little kid. So to see it finally here on this day is really exciting for me.”

Owens will get to return to the Northland in late September when the Dragons are scheduled to kickoff at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD).
