Five-run inning for secures series split for CSS softball
On Sunday, the College of Saint Scholastica softball team came away with another conference series split for the weekend, this time against Carlton College.
In game one:
The Saints would score twice in game one. In the third inning, Emma Bolin would put the Saints on the board after Katelyn Hackman ripped a single up the middle of the field. Jadyn Lind would hit a shot to the Knight’s shortstop, and Payton Lang would race home.
Carlton would rally in the fourth inning to tie things up and come out on top 3-2 on the game.
In game two:
The Knights would start game two in the lead 1-0, but in the second inning, the Saints would start a scoring streak. Katelyn Hackman would begin the scoring for CSS, coming in after a double from Victoria Nelson. Nelson would then advance home on an error. Aryn Blumenthal would hit a single that would allow Sami Ernst and Anna Azure to come home. Adie Potratz would complete the running for the inning, coming in on a single hit by Jadyn Lind.
The Knights would score twice more, once in the top of the third, and once in the top of the fifth. The Saints would seal the deal in the bottom of the fifth with Samantha Paniagua coming around the bases by a shot from Emma Bolin.
The Saints come away with the game two win 6-4.
