Five UMD women’s hockey players advance in IIHG World Championship
Five current and former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey players advanced to the semifinal rounds of the IIHF World Championship that will be played on Saturday at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario.
Current UMD center Gabbie Hughes and the U.S. will face off against former and current Bulldogs Blanka Skodova and Katerina Mrazova of the Czech Republic Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
Graduate goalie Emma Soderberg and Sweden will play Japan, while junior defenseman Nina Jobst-Smith and Germany will drop the puck against Finland in the consolation rounds on Friday night.
