Former Bulldogs Ashton Bell, Emma Soderberg earn PWHL honors

On Tuesday the PWHL announced their 2024 award winners, and two University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey alums earned some recognition.

Boston goaltender Emma Söderberg and Ottawa defender Ashton Bell landed on the 2024 PWHL All-Rookie Team. They’re joined by PWHL Minnesota’s Sophie Jaques and Grace Zumwinkle, who was also named the PWHL’s 2024 Rookie of the Year.

In eight games played this season, Söderberg recorded 2.54 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.

In 24 games played this year, Bell scored two goals adding five assists for seven points.

Boston’s Alina Muller and Toronto’s Emma Maltais rounded out the six-player All-Rookie Team.
