Former Gopher standout Mo Ibrahim signed to Vikings

Former University of Minnesota Gopher Mohamed Ibrahim will be trading the maroon and gold for purple and gold as he was signed Thursday to play for the Minnesota Vikings.

Ibrahim tied for a U of M program single-game record in 2020 with 207 rushed yards and four touchdowns against his home-state team of Maryland.

In 2022 he came back from an Achilles injury, that kept him from the field in 2021, where he set single-season school records for rushing attempts, rushing yards, rushing and total touchdowns, total points, 100-yard games, and rushing yards per game.

Ibrahim also set career records for rushing yards, rushing and total touchdowns, 100-yards games, 200-yard games, consecutive 200-yard games, and consecutive 100-yard games.

Ibrahim joined the Detroit Lions in 2023 but suffered an injury that caused him to sit out the preseason. He was activated for Detroit’s matchup against Baltimore but suffered a hip dislocation that kept him off the field.
