Former Huskies hear their names called during the 2023 MLB Draft
You hear it all the time from young kids and maybe even when they are older that they want to play professional sports when they grow up. On Sunday night that dream came true for two former Duluth Huskie players.
The Milwaukee Brewers selected Mike Boeve in the second round with the 54th pick. He is a junior infielder from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Boeve spent the summer of 2021 playing in a Huskies jersey, catching the eye of pro scouts. He led the Huskies during that time in hits and RBIs with 47, as they concluded the season with a 19-19 record.
Two rounds later and 78 picks later, the Boston Red Sox selected Georgia Tech junior shortstop Kristian Campbell. Last year with the Huskies, Campbell had a .365 batting average and 45 RBIs.
