Former UMD goalie Ryan Fanti signs AHL deal with Syracuse Crunch
Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), and Minnesota Wilderness, goaltender Ryan Fanti is continuing to live out his professional hockey dreams.
On Tuesday the 24-year-old netminder signed a one-year AHL contract with the Syracuse Crunch. They’re the affiliate to the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Thunder Bay native spent last season with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. Appearing in 17 games he posted a 9-6-2 record with a 2.75 goals against average and .915 save percentage.
Fanti has skated in 51 career ECHL games and nine AHL contests with the Bakersfield Condors.
