Tuesday, just over three months away from their season opener, the Augustana University men’s hockey team dropped the roster for their inaugural year. Four with Northland ties made the cut.
Duluth, Minnesota native Shay Donovan is one of nine defenders, entering as a fifth year transfer from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Duluth East alum also previously skated for the Cloquet based Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
Two of Augustana’s 14 forwards include Cohasset, Minn. native, Grand Rapids boys hockey alum Hunter Bischoff, and former Greenway star Ben Troumbly from Bovey, Minn.
They’re joined by former University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s hockey forward Colton Friesen.
The Vikings’ goalies for the 2023-2024 season have yet to be announced. Their season opener is October 7 at Wisconsin.
