Gondik Law Speedway was not only the scene of some high quality racing in the Northland on Friday night, but to their “meet the drivers” night, allowing fans to get up close and personal to the drivers and cars they love.

Owner and promoter Joe Stariha is a big fan of the event and what it stands for.

“They love meeting some of their idols. For us, it’s a good way to get these kids and adults to come out here and meet that driver. Get a little more of a ‘here’s who that person is, maybe they root for them more often, maybe they come back next week because they really like a couple drivers’. So for us, it’s just a great event.”

Friday night’s race also featured a $5,000 prize for late models, and was one of many races the Gondik Law Speedway holds during the racing season.
